    Feature Spotlight: Manifest Module

DGXprt Team18 March 20265 min read

A dangerous goods manifest is not an administrative formality. It is a live document that emergency responders rely on — under pressure, in crisis. When it is wrong, the consequences are not paperwork problems. They are safety problems.

Yet for most organisations, manifest preparation has always been manual, time-consuming and uncomfortably dependent on the expertise of one or two key people. Data is extracted from SDS by hand. Quantities are entered from memory or stale spreadsheets. Threshold calculations are interpreted rather than automated. The result is a document that may look compliant on the shelf but has never truly been verified.

The Manifest Module, introduced in DGXprt 2026.2, changes that from the ground up.

What the Manifest Module Actually Does

The Manifest Module generates regulator-aligned manifests directly from the data that already exists in DGXprt. Hazardous chemicals in your Site Inventory are already classified. Quantities are already captured. SDS have already been quality-checked. The manifest is not a manual export — it is the output of a structured, intelligent workflow built on clean data.

    Automated classification

Your site register is assessed and hazardous chemicals are automatically sorted into the correct manifest sections — packaged goods, bulk storage, tanks, manufacturing areas, transit.

    Guided workflow

A step-by-step process walks users through each required section without requiring them to interpret regulatory language at every turn.

    Site plan validation

Upload your site plan and DGXprt's AI assistant cross-checks it against a structured compliance checklist — storage identifiers, emergency infrastructure, drainage, entry points and more.

    Regulator-aligned output

The final manifest is generated as a print-ready PDF, structured to meet Australian Safe Work guidance — ready to store in the required emergency information location.

Built on Data Integrity — Not Document Formatting

The most common manifest failures are not formatting problems. They are data problems. Outdated SDS, misapplied threshold calculations, quantities that do not reflect reality. These failures do not show up on the shelf. They show up during an inspection or — worse — during an emergency.

Because DGXprt manages the full lifecycle of dangerous goods data — SDS quality checking, hazard classification, threshold assessment, Site Inventory — the manifest is downstream of clean, verified information. The platform does not just help you format a document. It ensures the data behind the document is correct.

    How the Workflow Operates

The Manifest Module follows a structured sequence that mirrors Australian regulatory expectations from first entry to final sign-off.

    1

    General Information & Emergency Contacts

Company details, site information, and emergency contact data are captured before any storage section is opened.

    2

    Storage Area Setup

DGXprt classifies your inventory into the required sections — packaged goods, bulk storage, tanks — and prompts users to confirm whether manufacturing areas or transit goods also apply. Storage area identifiers are defined and linked to quantities from the Site Register.

    3

    Quantity Confirmation

Average quantities are drawn from Site Inventory. Storage type is selected from regulatory-aligned categories. Additional data is captured.

    4

    Site Plan Upload & Validation

Users upload their site plan. The AI assistant checks alignment between storage identifiers and manifest sections, and verifies that required site features — fire services, drainage, entry points, emergency information location — are present and correctly represented.

    5

    Review, Approval & Output

An authorised person formally approves the manifest. DGXprt generates a regulator-aligned PDF, ready to print and store.

    Designed for Ongoing Maintenance

A manifest is not a one-time exercise. When Site Inventory quantities change, manifests need to reflect those changes. The Manifest Module is built for maintenance, not recreation. Users reopen the existing manifest, review updated sections, confirm changes and regenerate — without repeating the full setup process each time.

For organisations managing multiple facilities, DGXprt provides centralised visibility of manifest status across sites, including creation stage, approval status and completed dates — improving governance without adding administrative burden.

    Health & Safety Managers

In the unlikely event of a fire or chemical incident, a complete and accurate manifest gives emergency services what they need to act fast and act right.

    Facility & Operations Manager

Multi-site visibility of manifest status means compliance isn't dependent on individual site follow-up. Manifests stay current as inventory changes.

    Why This Feature Matters

Dangerous goods compliance should not depend on memory, spreadsheets or one internal expert. The Manifest Module closes the gap between data accuracy and document accuracy — ensuring that the document emergency services rely on is always built on verified, current information.

    • No manual extraction from SDS
    • No threshold calculations to re-interpret
    • No site plan checklist to manage separately
    • No version control spreadsheets
    • No compliance gaps discovered at inspection
